Mohammed Khamis feels uncomfortable when wearing it.
Fahed said I know that, but you have to familiarize yourself
with it, because it can save your life or at least protect you from serious
injuries, Mohammed was convinced of its importance and said of course. Mansour do
you think that the media have a role in educating people about the importance
of wearing seat belts. Fahed said certainly, and I suggested the media to
allocate advertisements by famous people such as ball players and singers
because they are loved by people.
2. Car maintenance
Mohammed Khamis said: we must take
the car for regular maintenance and
we must change the tires every year.
Mansoor said: it also involves
daily inspection of the vehicle such as tires and turn signals, car lights and
engine leaks.
3. Mobile phones
Hedley asked if it is possible for people not to use mobile
phone when driving. Fahed said: there is no chance.
Hedley said: how
about using hand free instead of holding it along the way. Fahed and Mohammed agreed,
but Mansoor did not agree and said better not to use when driving, because the
driver loses the focus and it’s one of the main causes of accidents.
4. Excessive speed
Mohammad asked whether the radar can reduce traffic
accidents. Fahed and Mansoor agreed and both of them said it is better to increase
the number of them. Hedley said police can monitor car speed by the camera. Fahed
points that Adco company ,where he works, already fixed a device which can
record all the details including the speed and they punish the violators.
5. Unsafe weather condition
Mansoor said we must not drive during the bad weather such
as the fog or dusty atmosphere. Mohammed Khamis agreed and he mentioned the
tragic incident that occurred five years ago in Ghantoot area and many people died due to heavy fog.
In conclusion we thought that:
1-
Seat belts can save
your family's life.
2-
Let your eyes always
focused on the road and forget about the mobile phone.
3-
Do not forget regular
maintenance of the vehicle and donot skimp in changing the tire.
4-
Stop the car immediately
in the case of weather change.
5-
Everyone must join hands in
order for public safety.
